Over the years we have noticed that when our customers search the Netregistry website to register a domain name that they want to use, they find that it is already registered to somebody else. Our Chief Operating Officer even wrote an eBook on this subject - Someone has registered ‘my’ .au domain name!
Once customers realise that the domain they want is already registered (legitimately) to another party, their next question is often “can you tell me when it becomes available and register it for me straight away?” Historically we have shown customers how they can keep track of the status of a domain themselves by performing regular WHOIS lookups, then registering the domain name if they notice that it becomes available.
We have listened to feedback from our customers and are happy to introduce Domain Backorder - a service that handles domain availability search and automatic registration upon availability for domains that are currently not available for registration. Every day there are thousands of domain names that expire or are deleted from the registry, going back into the pool of available names for registration. Domain backorder is perfect for monitoring domain names that you are interested in, but don’t have the time to actively pursue.
So, how does it work?
For $9.95 per year we will regularly monitor the status of a domain and if it becomes available, will register it for you free of additional registration charges. Our systems are connected directly to the various registries so we are able to continually monitor the status of your domain at regular intervals, and attempt to register if we detect that it has become available.
How do I place an order?
Netregistry are now offering domain back-ordering services for .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .asia, .mobi, .au, .nz and .uk extensions. Backorder is now available.
